Refracción usando lentes de prueba como herramienta
Obtener Eye Lense Flippers (en pasos de +0.25 / -0.25 DC )
• Tener un gráfico limpio con fondo blanco y letras negras distintas para un buen contraste
• Coloque la tabla a nivel de los ojos
• Prueba en buena –Iluminación brillante con sombras mínimas alrededor del gráfico
• Siempre haga que el paciente camine y vea cómo se siente con el marco del ensayo con la receta.
Nota (En una situación de cribado en la que usted ha estimado la distancia de la tabla, el paciente puede no estar leyendo la línea 20/20 (6/6, 1.0) porque el gráfico está mal posicionado – eso está bien.
1. Compruebe si hay OJO Dominante – Haga la prueba
¿por qué?
Para la prueba de OCCLUSIÓN ALTERNATIVA ADICIONAL DE BALANCE BINOCULAR:
Reduzca la potencia más binocularmente, comprobando el VA después de cada paso +0.25.
•Continúe cambiando entre los dos ojos para dar al paciente la oportunidad de comparar vistas.
–Si el paciente dice "Derecha" añadir +0.25D esfera al ojo izquierdo
–Si el paciente dice "Izquierda" añadir +0.25D esfera al ojo derecho
–Si el paciente sigue cambiando entre derecha e izquierda, deje el ojo dominante ligeramente más claro.
–Si el paciente dice "lo mismo", entonces no hacer nada mas y solo
2. MANTENER EL EQUIVALENTE ESFÉRICO:
Uso del JCC :
Por cada -0.50DC que aumentas añadir +0.25D Sphere
Por cada -0.50DC se reduce eliminar +0.25D Esfera
Añadir poder debido a la edad del paciente
¿Qué receta esperaría a cada edad si se corrige la visión a distancia?
Esto es un aproximado
- Edad 40 + = 0.50D añadir

–Edad 45 + = +0.75D añadir (0.50+0.25)
–Edad 50 + = 1.00D añadir (0.50+0.50)
–Edad 55 +1.50D añadir
–Edad 60 + 2.00D añadir
–Edad 65 +2.50D añadir
Agregue +0.25D esfera sobre ambos ojos si desea acercar la distancia de la imagen

Get Eye Lense Flippers (in steps of +0.25 / -0.25 DC )
· Have a clean chart with white background and distinct black letters for good contrast
· Place the chart at eye level
- Test in good –Bright lighting with minimal shadows around the chart
- Always get the patient to walk around and see how they feel with the trial frame on with the prescription.
Note (In a screening situation where you have estimated the distance of the chart, the patient may not be reading the 20/20 (6/6, 1.0)line because the chart is incorrectly positioned –that’s okay.➢You can refract to the “best visual acuity” as long as you don’t shift the chart during refraction.)
1. Check for Dominant EYE – Do the test
Why ?
Because:
For the test of ADDITIONAL BINOCULAR BALANCE METHOD-SUCCESSIVE ALTERNATE OCCLUSION :
Reduce the plus power binocularly, checking the VA after each +0.25 step.
•Continue to switch between the two eyes to give the patient a chance to compare views.
–If the patient says “Right” add +0.25D sphere to the left eye
–If the patient says “Left” add +0.25D sphere to the right eye
–If the patient keeps switching between right and left, leave the dominant eye slightly clearer.
–If the patient says “the same” leave.
2. MAINTAIN SPHERICAL EQUIVALENT:
Using the JCC :
For every -0.50DC you increase add +0.25D Sphere
For every -0.50DC you decrease remove +0.25D Sphere
Add Power due to Age
What prescription would you expect at each age if distance vision is corrected?
- Age 40 = +0.50D add
-
–Age 45 = +0.75D add
–Age 50 = +1.00D add
–Age 55 = +1.50D add
–Age 60 = +2.00D add
–Age 65 = +2.50D add
Add +0.25D sphere over both eyes if you want to bring the working distance closer
